ok guys, something in this community needs to change, and it must happen now!

Ok, so how do i get started today. So i was browsing arround the net, and on some point i got stuck to audiogames.net again. I knew about the descending off the community before. But then i found this:

https://forum.audiogames.net/topic/40894/a-new-fps-coming-soon-infinite-warfare/

At first it seamed like nothing wrong. I saw a developer announcing his new game infinite warfare, and already providing his readme. It looked good at fine before i started reading deeper. I hope i don’t need to tell you what all aobout this topic is wrong. People are just randomly acusing this game to be a clone, or framing the developer for his age. And this is a problem that our community has since ages, and which is probably even one of the main causes for the cloning problem, and why we get less and less games. Imargine you where a new developer and wanted to develope for the audiogaming community, maybe because you are blind too. So you research about a community with which you can provide your game. And the first thing you see is a topic like this one, or countless other ones. At this point, it’s just not understanding of basic common sense. If an idea is been used or reproduced in a better way, or a menu looks similar, that does not at all have to mean its the same codbase. It happens in mainstream communities quite a bit. Just because a developer has not hit the magic 18 number doesn’t mean he is a bad developer, uncapable of handling a game or, as referenced in this particular topic, power hungry. This is a problem that probably holds a lot of devs back from joining. It is also the reason why i took a break from game development for 2 years. And this makes the cloners show off more, because they are most often noticed, because unless vgstorm or nyanchan or some few others, there is not much happening anymore. I did not count long standing titles as stw, of course they are still going, but nothing new has been seen from sam since 2 years, in fact, he left the entire forum due to behaving like this or in even more aggressive forms. Please bring this article forward so maybe some day people realizes what damage they do not only to a developer and his reputation, but the entire community with this behaving.

  1. lol @tech communist kinda harsh there buddy. but well i don’t have much hope for this game anyway.

  2. Well i know how a house is build just not how to do it, it may have come over wrong accross though. In fact my family hs a few houses.

  3. Don’t mean like that, I mean get to know the world more. Shocked you don’t even know the building blocks, pun not intended, in building a house.

  4. I actually was biking today, and official confermation no it is not canceled. Have talked to the dev.

  5. I don’t know hw to build a house and regarding it beeing canceled, well it was not canceled a few hours ago.

  6. Heh, I’ll bet you know what goes into building a house even though you probably never laid a single brick in your life. Just because one doesn’t code that doesn’t mean that they don’t read tutorials or have some idea of what goes into making something, and that goes for everything. That’s an ignorant standpoit.

  7. hey i have to agree with both. because @karmien you’re right that jaidon didn’t code a single thing, but as for the thing coming out, i think it’s canceled because of how much critisism it got, at least those are the roomers that i’ve heard.

  8. Exactly @TechCommunist. Have you ever wondered why we have more "Blind-related osftware" than Audiogames? because making even a simple games is very hard. For the sighted, its grabbing Unity/Godot and clicking the mouse. For us its creating the full engine ourselves most of the time.

  9. So what makes a shooter easy? What about coding the physics behind the bullets? Or the math regarding turning, aiming etc? Or why not make the game just like any other redspot/tk rip off with vehicles? I mean, if tunmi, Ivan and others did it certainly someone whose going to make a revolutionary break-through game like this should be able to at least make something simple with regards that. Even though I’m not a full-time coder I know that alot of effort goes into making a proper FPS, and if you couldn’t do the bumpercart than I still know that its not going to be any good.

  10. OK. So let me tell you one thing:
I have experience in coding, I wrote applications, Rest APIS, Screenreader plugins, Total Commander plugins, you name it, but I wouldn’t dare to write a game.
    Why?
because it requires much more than coding knowledge. It requires understanding of math, physics, and great planning.

  11. arctic moon, why you spid out wrong facts then, expoert?
Jaidon, i will explain it to you one more time. Believe it or not, when you want to roll it out good a car bumper, even an offline one, is pretty hard. Simple because you need to find a way to get a realistic steering. A steering like in ts3 is not so easy to make as you think it is. But since this is a person that never wrote a single lne of code trying to tell how hard coding is what did i even expect?
@nuno and urh don’t even bother, wait till it’s out.

  12. it won’t be good but simter has a point about the fact that they’re calling it clone is bs.

  13. As I said in the topic. He literally said about 2 weeks ago he started working on this shooter because his team couldn’t start on a bumpercart thing. If you can’t code something that’s overall more simplistic in terms of the ideas, mechanics etc, what makes them think they can do a 3d shooter that’s actually fun and unique? That being said though, its bullshit of people jumping on it for being a clone without seeing it. That’s bullshit at its finest, and I really hope people would pull out a dictionary and look up the meaning of clone. Attack the stuff you saw in the readme, give info that you previously had. Don’t go around flailing your arms in the air calling it a clone.

  14. Your posts shows you have not even clicked on my link, the release is next week and the game was only posted 2 days ago, nice one you have proven your self dumm.

  15. Agreed with Nuno. I always wanted to understand the logic behind announcing a game a month earlier than it’s released, but I could never get it. Why, just why, if not because of wanting some attention from the community?

  16. Of course they make. But in order to understand logical sense you must have a basic sense of logic, which you clearly lack 80% of the time.

  17. My views make no sense because you cannot read English.
Well, if I knew german then our discussion might work, somehow.

  18. Life aint black or white. Their behavior is shaped by many past events which happened in the previous years.
"A" is the most important point on the list, because it makes you vulnerable. What if you get your hand cut off tomorrow and you won’t release the game on the date? People will get disappointed, they will lose trust in you and many other consequences will arise. If you present something which is not ready yet it makes you be seen as immature, stupid or… power-hungry

  19. So you think shaming a dev outa nowhere like this is ok? You are weird bro. Also you don’t know about b and c.

  20. Please, please, please. Get some life experience and then post such statements, because now it makes you be seen as stupid.
if you’re a new developer, its not wise to announce your project before it meets the following requirements
A: Its finished (by finished I mean ready to download, install and play.
B: It does not contain stolen sounds, code or other assets.
C: Its bugs are mostly fixed.
This community has some negative experiences with games with such titles, and I am not blaming them for being careful or even aggressive when approaching this game or its developer.
